	Tackling youth well being is a key issue that should be focused on in the Niger Delta Region. When the Goverment free education at the Universal Basic Education (UBE) level, is it really FREE. The Government must put in place strigent measures to ensure services and materials provided free actually get to the pupils and students for free. We all poverty is a measure challenge and the less privileged family cannot afford basic education for thier children and the one provided free by the government can not be accessed by the children due to persons selfish interest, then certainly we must issues like the one we experiencing in the Niger Delta Region. Josephine Gua Africare/Nigeria - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This conference holding from October 13-18, 2008 is an avenue to discuss the development situation in the Niger-delta, with emphasis on the implications for youth development, to prioritise development investment needs of the youth highlighting quick wins as well as long term development issues, and to collate the views of young people from the Niger-delta, Nigeria and the international community on the development of the region.
