The River-of-Life tool is a learner-centered approach for behavior change developed by the Kabataang Gabay sa Positibong Pamumuhay in the year 2005.

The self-measurement of change tool is developed for behavior change facilitators and peer leaders that enables them to assist young people and their peer-groups particularly those in highly exploitative environments and risk spaces to individually assess and collaboratively address their own risks to HIV infection using their available resources

The technology encourages learner autonomy and competence-building and group accountability towards the behavior of its members. The approach complements the already available testing and treatment interventions aimed at people living with HIV from local service providers. It offers more behavioral impact for PLHIV to exercise control over their own behavior change and evaluate own outcome, and thus encourages performance in all aspects of positive prevention and a sustainable learning environment that occurs right in their own homes, community groups and service facilities. Compared to provider-initiated services it offers tools that guarantees confidentiality, ensures anonymity and protect privacy.
