Dear freinds,
Please find attached my answers for the next week.
4. What are some specific concerns that we can group under the issues
that came up in Week 1?
Awareness
Participation
Education
Policy development (Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV/Prevention, Treatment and care)
5. What are some ways that these concerns can be met and how can governments and/or civil society address them?
By involving young people in decision making and by education promotion programs and providing free services these concerns can be met
6. If you have been to an International AIDS Conference before, what do you think we could do differently (in terms of advocacy) as the YouthForce this time? If you havent been before, what are some examples of good or bad advocacy tactics from campaigns you know of that could help us in developing our campaign?
The collection of the signatures at that time will be a good advocacy campaign and the Adult youth partnership should be introduced.
7. Please rank the following suggested topics for an advocacy skills-building session from 1 to 5, with 1 being the most important and 5 being the least important. Feel free to add your own suggestion.
(5) 1. How to create an advocacy plan
(3) 2. How to ensure policy change and hold governments accountable
(4) 3. How to talk to and negotiate with high-level government officials
(5) 4. An overview of advocacy techniques and tactics

Hi,
Here are my responses:
Week 3> 8. What are some peaceful and innovative ways of highlighting the> importance of this issue at the conference?
At the last conference I attended they used songs (music) and plays to get the message behind the issues of discussion across to participants in an interactive and fun way.

I like posters and bracelets (colorful) because they are easy to distribute and/or display and they are quite visable in crowed areas.
> 10. When advocating using this message at the conference, what could you> suggest to your decision-makers as practical and realistic next steps> they can take to implement your ideas?> The easiest way to distribute the bracelets are in some sort of welcome bag for participants. The posters could also be distributed this way or you can get the participants involved in posting the posters around the conference in between specific workshops or events.
Peace & Thanks,
Sheridy>
