For the past 16 months, folks from hundreds of different NYC non-profits and CBOs have been gathering each month to network, outreach, and collaborate...If you've been before, come back and deepen your relationships. If you've never been, come join an awesome community of individuals.

There are more than 20,919 non-profits in NYC.
There are more than 1,870 youth organizations in NYC.
There are 2.5 million people between the ages of 15-35 in NYC.

There are too many of us, too many resources and ideas to NOT work together. By ourselves, we are making little dents, but combined, we can catalyze a major social movement. Start powerful coalitions....join communinty advisory boards....lobby the media.... organize high schools....instigate mass mobilizations....do a joint guerilla marketing campaign....lobby at city hall....

BE A VISIBLE, EXCITING PRESENCE TO NYC YOUTH.

Synergy=Visibility.

Local Gatherings are informal monthly forums where young people and youth allies who work in NYC’s leading organizations get the inside scoop on what's happening in NYC. So much of the time, we are so focused on our particular issue area that we don't notice all of the amazing resources and opportunities that exist. Local Gatherings create a space for organizations to promote thier events, exchange information, identify and remedy organizational challenges and explore opportunities for collaboration. Through sharing information across issue areas we are able to maximize our impact and mobilize millions of people. Participating groups include NGOs, non-profits, educational organizations, schools, after-school programs, community centers, media organizations, for-profit social ventures, UN agencies, governmental agencies, and grassroots collectives.

Imagine what a group of 100 organizations could do if they all got behind a cause...
