Thanks for attending a Local Gathering. We are so happy to have you in our network of young organizers! The purpose of this group is to continue the conversations that were started at the gathering and to get to know one another personally. This group will allow you to email participants of all Local Gatherings and catch up on or review organizational annoucements to find out about events, needs, resources, project pitches, etc. Youll also be able to post documents or make annoucements that you think the group would enjoy. If we can connect our efforts together, we will be able to make big changes in this city.

Local Gatherings provide a venue for organizations to present themselves and to develop relationships with other organizations across sectors in order to maximize their effectiveness and outreach.

Each Local Gathering is hosted by a different organization the third Thursday of every month from 6-8 pm and refreshments are provided. The night includes an introduction to the Local JAM Project, announcements and/or presentations from participating organizations, and plenty of time for networking! In addition organizations are encouraged to bring flyers and pamphlets about their work.

As a highlight of the Local Gathering process, individuals are encouraged to fill out an application detailing a project idea that they would like to present at the event. Before each gathering, three project pitches are accepted for presentation in order to generate the participation of attendees and possible organizational collaboration. Each new or collaborative project that inspires interest is invited to be developed at project development workshops and funded at a fundraising auction.
