	Hi everybody! So the next issue of Panorama is discussing the Digital Divide, as part of our October theme of Technology and Innovation. At first the high cost of computer technology meant the 'digital divide' referred to the large gap between people who could afford access to this technology and those who could not. As the cost of computer technology falls, the 'digital divide' now refers to the technological literacy and costs necessary to take full advantage of what computer technology has to offer. Today, more people may have access to the technology, but may lack the capacity to utilize that technology to the full degree. The barriers that form the 'digital divide' vary from lack of access to an internet connection, a person's economic class, language barriers and generational differences.
