Subject: WEEK FOUR
Sent: Oct 14th, 2008 - 09:35:54

  QUESTIONS FOR WEEK FOUR:

1. Are there specific practices or approaches you think would increase collaboration among young people, development agencies, and national governments?

Ans:
I think the development agencies did a lot which must be appreciated, but I think if we want to real change then both national governments and development agencies should let young people own every process concerning us.

How do we own the Process? Young people must be made to feel and be part of the solution we are all looking for. Young people must be involved in policies, thus formulation stage to implementation stage.

Secondly young people need to be empowered other than that, we can’t do well in pushing whatever policy is being implemented. We need research fellows and think tanks.

2. How do you think we in general can ensure increased youth participation and impact in national and local development programmes? Why or why not?

Ans:
Young people should be lured into doing more development work.
Sensitization will also be needed since most of our youth are not on top of development issues.

3. How can we ensure the invitation and subsequent participation of young people in the national and regional assessment processes related to core ICPD efforts (such as family planning, reproductive health, sexually transmitted disease and gender equality)?

Ans:
By the use of our radio stations, open forum on various school campuses, community base programmes
