Sujet: Responding to the questions of week three
Envoyé: Oct 5th, 2008 - 07:36:08

Hello everyone, hope you remember me.
Here is my respond to the questions of week three.

1. Do you know of efforts among young people to coordinate their efforts on and
participation in promoting family planning, reproductive health, addressing
sexually transmitted disease and gender equality?

Yes. Lately I have participated in an International Outreach Camp, where there was a YES /Youth Engaged in Society/ presentation and we were asked to present new projects. So with another girls I decided to hold seminars on Gender Equality in different communities in Armenia and we were very inspired. We filled in an application, we thought of our objectives and goals and we  made posters with them. Now we do our best to get a grant to accomplish our project.

2. In your experience, what conditions have led to the best opportunities for
young people to actively participate in activities which seek to promote family
planning, reproductive health, and  gender equality and address sexually
transmitted disease? What have been the greatest barriers?

I think that the involvement or volunteering in NGOs leads to participate in many activities. The greatest barrier is their complete unawareness of the issues and sometimes young people¢s indifference.

3. How have the perspectives and opinions of young people been perceived among
public and private institutions designing and implementing development
programmes, with particular attention to those on family planning, reproductive
health, sexually transmitted disease and gender equality?
Usually the opinion of the youth is not being taken into consideration and it¢s very bad. People who are elder us think that only they are true and they know everything and they don¢t give the youth the opportunity to implement any development programme. If private institutions perceive the youth¢s opinion and suggestions, it will become easier to persuade the public
