Dear ICPD,
QUESTIONS FOR WEEK THREE
1. Do you know of efforts among young people to coordinate their efforts on and participation in promoting family planning, reproductive health, addressing sexually transmitted disease and gender equality?
Well, it depends on the society where young generation are working, beacuse most of the barriers to coordinating such activities are itself the culture, where majority of the people are not discussing these issues openlly. I think the best way to coordinate these points among youths is to organize events relevant to these points to address it over in the event. The best way to network the youths and advise them on about it.
2. In your experience, what conditions have led to the best opportunities for young people to actively participate in activities which seek to promote family planning, reproductive health, and gender equality and address sexually transmitted disease? What have been the greatest barriers?
As far as I have a little experience on Primary Health Care programs, where I worked on these issues as well. The best way is to work on the youth schools, and establish youth societies and guide them. Also its very important to motivate the community elders to establish health committee to work with youths in this areas. This is very much effective and reslut oriented.
3. How have the perspectives and opinions of young people been perceived among public and private institutions designing and implementing development programmes, with particular attention to those on family planning, reproductive health, sexually transmitted disease and gender equality?
Well, it will be better to involve them in the decision manking process all the institutions will percieve what the young generation is thinking about it all.
Note: For effective working and result oriented projects in this field, its better that both youths and elders of the community can work together and come up with some mutually understandable critieria to establish a project and eridicate the disease from that society. While considering the religion, culture and some other factors will have great effect on it. To work with the religiouse people and teachers in society and use them as a tool will have great impact on the project.
Thank you for the efforts of all.
