QUESTIONS FOR WEEK TWO:
1. Based on your own experience and views on family planning, reproductive health, sexually transmitted diseases, gender equality and community participation in development, which issues need to be given more attention in your country?
I think in China community participation need to be given more attention. Now most of the projects are implemented by gov. or international organizations which don't involve in a lot of community people in the project. It's not efficient and effected.
2. Do you have any suggestions of additional issues relevant to youth which would be important to add to the development (ICPD) agenda?
No at this point.
3. Do you know of development projects addressing issues of poverty reduction, family planning, reproductive health and gender equality (i.e., related to ICPD) which were implemented with a high degree of youth participation and recognition? Were they successful why or why not?
Yes. UNFPA China office has country program cooperating with MOH, National Population and Family Planning Commission, China Family Planning Association on youth friendly services, youth participation in ASRH issue. China Youth Network which I am in is one part of this country program. Young people in China Youth Network involve in part of this country program not only project implementing, but also project design, evaluation. It's really successful because young people's voice could be heard and accepted by adult, which is really good at projects because the project is for addressing young people's SRH issue. Also young people get the chance to implement project by themselves and proved that young people has ablity to do great things.
