Grants for Urban Youth Projects in Developing Countries
UN-HABITAT: Urban Youth Fund

http://www.unhabitat.org/categories.asp?catid=637

UN-HABITAT, the United Nations agency for human settlements, promotes
socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the
goal of providing adequate shelter for all. UN-HABITAT’s Urban Youth
Fund supports urban youth in developing countries. The Fund aims to
advance the achievements of the Millennium Development goals and the
Habitat Agenda by providing grants up to $25,000 to youth-led projects
piloting innovative approaches to employment, good urban governance,
shelter, and secure tenure. Young men and women between 18 and 32
years old may apply for the Fund through youth-led nonprofit
organizations including non-governmental organizations, youth groups,
community based organizations, and other nonprofits. Projects
implemented within a city or town of more than 10,000 inhabitants are
eligible. Applicant organizations must be based in one of the
following regions: Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia
(excluding Japan), the Middle East, or Oceania (excluding Australia
and New Zealand). Applications must be submitted through the online
application portal by April 15, 2012. Visit the UN-HABITAT website for
more information on the Fund and visit the online application portal
to register your organization.
