  Join the thousands
worldwide in support of the
March on Washington 2012

"Make a career of humanity, commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal
rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of
your country and a finer world to live in."

*- Martin Luther King, Jr., Washington D.C., 1959*

"We support the D.C. Declaration and ask for you to sign on today."

In 2011, we made many strides in the fight against HIV but much work
remains to be done. We are relentless in our fight against this
devastating disease and motivated by the overwhelming support for the “Keep
the Promise” March on Washington from across the globe. On July 22, 2012
on the opening day of the XIV International AIDS Conference, we will join
together in solidarity to March on Washington. Thank you for showing your
support by signing on to the DC Declaration and we want to alert you to
some positive changes.

Following the United States' renewed commitment this past World AIDS Day to
fighting AIDS both domestically and globally, we have adjusted the DC
Declaration accordingly. However, there is still much more to be done by
the United States as well by all world leaders and governments.

Universal access to treatment through cost-effective measures and
fair-share contributions to the global fight against AIDS is critical if we
are going to conquer AIDS. Treatment as prevention must be leveraged in
concert with a scale-up of rapid HIV testing and access to care to stop the
spread of HIV. As we commit to the goals of the DC Declaration, we are
laying the groundwork for a future without HIV/AIDS.
