1) Youth-Led Projects in the U.S. and Canada Funded

Do Something Seed Grants

http://www.dosomething.org/grants/seedgrants

Do Something is a national nonprofit organization that inspires young
people to believe that change is possible, and trains, funds, and
mobilizes them to be leaders who work to strengthen their communities.
Do Something Seed Grants are available to U.S. and Canadian citizens,
age 25 or under, who want to create a community action project or
further the success of an existing program. Examples of funded
projects include a community-run organic farm, a youth-written
literary magazine for women of color, and an organization that teaches
sick kids how to fly. One grant of $500 is awarded each week.
Applications may be submitted throughout the year. Visit the Do
Something website to create a project posting and submit an online
application.

2) Fellowships for Social Entrepreneurs Worldwide

Echoing Green Fellowship Program
http://www.echoinggreen.org/fellowship

Echoing Green invests in outstanding emerging social entrepreneurs to
help them launch new organizations that deliver bold, high-impact
solutions to society’s most difficult problems. Each year, Echoing
Green awards 12 to 20 two-year fellowships to entrepreneurs worldwide
who are creating innovative social change organizations. Fellowships
are provided to individuals (at least 18 years of age) or partnerships
(organizations led by two people) with creative solutions to
significant social problems; strategies to create high-impact,
sustainable change in people’s lives; and the ability to grow and lead
a new organization. Fellows receive seed funding ($60,000 for
individuals and $90,000 for partnerships) and technical support to
turn their innovative ideas into sustainable social change
organizations. The application deadline is January 9, 2012. Online
application information is available on the Echoing Green website.
