*Development of the UNAIDS Secretariats New Generation Leadership Strategy*
*Call for nominations for representatives to the Working Group*
This call for nominations aims to identify three additional representatives
form youth organizations and networks to join a Working Group that guides
the development of a New Generation Leadership Strategy for UNAIDS which
entails to outline how the UNAIDS Secretariat may become a champion for
youth leadership by fully integrating principles of youth participation and
leadership into its organization and work. ****
The tasks of the Working Group will be as follows:****
· Give feedback on specific strategy development activities****
· Formulate recommendations for the outreach and content of the
external consultations****
· Provide input on the strategy draft****
· Liaise with major youth networks to assess the suitability and
viability of the Strategy****
· Connect UNAIDS to relevant youth organizations for outreach and
implementation****

The working group members will have the following competencies:****
· Good knowledge of the mandate and functions of the UNAIDS
Secretariat and preferably some working experience with UNAIDS****
· Country, regional or global level experience in the HIV response*

· Represent a national, regional or global HIV youth network****
· Fluent English speaker****

UNAIDS is seeking for:****
· Representation of young people living with HIV and young key
affected populations.****
· Representatives in the age group, 15-29 years old****
· The composition of WG will reflect a reasonable gender and
geographical balance.****
· The number of WG members will not exceed 8 (including the two
UNAIDS representatives).****
· Representatives need to commit to the process from October -
December 2011 and should be able to undertake at least one hours work on
the working group per week, including reading documents, responding to
emails, attending teleconferences and consulting with their peers.****

The selection process will be handled by the co-chairs of the Working Group
(Shantih Van Hoog and Anne May Andersen/UNAIDS) who will decide on the final
selection based on a review of nominations against the above listed
principles. ****
There is no financial compensation for the participation in the Working
Group.****
Applicants are requested to submit a motivational letter not exceeding 300
words and a short CV (max 2 pages). *Nominations are to be submitted to
Shantih van Hoog no later than September 28, 2011, at: *vanhoogs (at) unaids.org

The selection process will be finalized by October 1st.****
