*West African Youth Summit 2011 ** *has
issued a call for *Application * from Youth around West Africa to attend the
1st *West African Youth Summit 2011, a platform for youth all over West
Africa to come together to learn, voice out and take action to move towards
a green sustainable and developmental future for West Africa. The role of
West African youth in efforts towards sustainable development and Regional
conflicts management will be key on our agenda for this Summit. *

*THE OBJECTIVE OF SUMMIT*

· *To promote youth-led development as a constructive and effective
role in the effort to make poverty history in a sustainable way – combating
climate change, reducing corruption, ensuring wildlife conservation and
cross cultural communication;*

· *To demonstrate a wide variety of ways that youth can do
development by selecting local action projects;*

· *To support momentum towards the achievement of the MDGs.*

· *To encourage skills to promote sustainable youth
entrepreneurship;*

· *To draw attention of the world, especially youth to our cultural
heritage and tourism sector;*

· *To promote dialogue and understanding among youth on regional
issues like development, conflict and peace;*

· *To create a youth statement that is representative of the needs
of youth in the region on key issues that participants will identify;*

· *To get government and others in authority to “ see youth as
resource, not a problem”*

· *To achieve cooperation beyond borders of one’s country through
our selected programs or activities.*

*Deadline for submitting the application is October 17, 2011*

*All participants should:*



· be aged between 18 and 35

· be ready to share their knowledge and experience in their
institutional or organizational context

· be experienced in youth policy processes and sustainability issues
in their organizations and country.

· have multiplying effect (able to spread the outcome of the West
African Youth Summit to other youth groups or stakeholders such as
government or private sector)

· be able to travel to Liberia on the 07th of December and depart
on 12thDecember

· be willing to actively contribute to the debates and committed to
take part in the whole duration of the event.

· be able to work in English, French or Portuguese


About 50 participants including West African delegates and also partners
from Host country will be registered based on their level of experience in
sustainable development and youth policy issues. The selection committee
will also ensure that there is a balance in gender, geographical origin and
organizational representation when registering participants.

Registrations will be reviewed on rolling bases and participants will be
confirmed after the registration Completion period in order to give
participants enough time to prepare and raised funding where possible from
their country. Final listing and announcement of all participants will be
made in two days time after the late registration closure.



All participants must fill the attached *registration form to be sent by
e-mail to organizer by 17th October 2011. Late or Onsite registration will
only be arrange if there is availability, uncompleted Registration will not
be considered*. **
