Announcement: Asia Youth Summit
2011

We’re happy to announce our first ever Asia Youth Summit! In July, we will
be bringing 60 new Changemakers together for a week of training sessions and
workshops.

We are looking for *social entrepreneurs*, *community activists* and *people
with a track record of volunteering* who have not taken part in any earlier
*Global Changemakers *summits.

Applicants need to be *between 18 and 24 years*.

They need to be *available in India between Sunday, 17 July and Saturday, 23
July*.

They must be *from one of the following countries* or *from the United
Kingdom*:

American Samoa
Ashmore and Cartier Islands
Australia
Bangladesh
Bhutan
Brunei
Burma/Myanmar
Cambodia
Christmas Island
Cocos (Keeling) Islands
Cook Islands
Coral Sea Islands
East Timor
Easter Island
Federated States of Micronesia
Fiji
French Polynesia
Guam
Heard Island and McDonald Islands
India
Indonesia
Kiribati
Laos
Malaysia
Maldives
Marshall Islands
Nauru
Nepal
New Caledonia
New Zealand
Niue
Norfolk Island
Northern Mariana Islands

The call for applications will go live here, on www.global-changemakers.net,
on *1 April 2011* and last *until 17 April*. Applicants will be asked to
submit a written application as well as an application video no longer than
2 minutes.

During this period, we will also be asking for *peer facilitator
applications from Changemakers aged 16-25*who have taken part in previous
summits but have not previously taken part as facilitators. (These can be
from any countries, not only the ones listed above.) Once the call for
applications has ended, the 60 participants will be selected by the *Global
Changemakers *team in co-operation with local British Council offices and
the peer facilitators.

Travel costs to and from the summit, visa fees, accommodation and meals
during the summit will be covered by the British Council.

More information will be made available once the call for applications has
gone live. Make sure to check back on *1 April 2011!*
