	Please note that I'm not connected with this opportunity. _________________ The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has opened the seventh round of its Grand Challenges Explorationscompetition for scientists, inventors and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to address global health issues. Each grant under the initiative will amount to $100,000. The foundation specifically looks for: - Ways to accelerate, sustain and monitor the eradication of poliovirus. - The next generation of sanitation technologies. - Low-cost cell phone-based solutions for improved uptake and coverage of childhood vaccinations. - New approaches to cure HIV infection. - Nutrition for the healthy growth of infants and children. - Application of synthetic biology for global health challenges. Proposals will be accepted via www.grandchallenges.org/explorations until 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time on May 19, 2011.
