Subject: ISRRC - Please support women affected by the earthquake in Japan.
To: isrrc-l (at) list.web.net
Please lend us your hands to support women in the hardest hit area in Japan.
9.0 magnitude earthquake, which is the largest to hit Japan since records
began, hit the north-east of the country on 11 March.
It was followed by a series of strong aftershocks, and also triggered a
massive tsunami, which has destroyed most of the cities and villages on the
north-east coast of Japan.
JOICFP have decided to support people in the hardest hit area in Japan,
especially girls and women in this difficult time. Although we are primarily
international cooperation organization, this disaster has affected us all in
the country to the level where we all need to come together as one and work
As we see so many international support arriving and warm messages from
friends coming, we realize that we are not alone and our livelihoods are
supported by all the people in the world. We would like to act on behalf of
your kind support extended from all over the world, to girls, women and
mothers in the disaster affected area.
JOICFP will focus on MDG5, improving maternal health, responding to RH needs
of women and mothers in affected area, which is most often overlooked in
disaster relief activities.
We plan to distribute relief supplies, such as disposable diapers, sanitary
napkins, and relief clothing for women and newborns to meet their daily
needs. We will also support healthcare activities, such as providing
healthcare services for mothers and newborns, and psychological care for
women who are suffering from severe stress after this traumatic disaster.
All the support activities will be conducted in collaboration with local
midwives, who have been working very closely with the communities.
Please join us in supporting women, and mothers and children in the disaster
v For details of donation procedures, please see the followings:

Please note that we cannot accept any relief goods itself as transportations
are strictly limited to the affected area.
Thank you and best regards,
