	Dear Colleague, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know about a project we are undertaking: the School of Public Health Certificate program in LGBT Health, to be offered through Drexel University's acclaimed distance learning program. As a fully accredited Master's Level Certificate this three-course program will be taught by recognized leaders in contemporary LGBT public health research methodologies, education and advocacy. It is designed for professionals who seek to advance their education online, complementing their public health experience to better understand and serve their LGBT clients, patients and consumer populations. We are deliberately taking advantage of Drexel University's outstanding reputation in distance learning to provide the curriculum in the form of an online program. This will allow us to accommodate those who are unable to attend classes in person due to time as well as distance constraints, without compromising quality. A number of professionals from across the country have already inquired about this developing program. Some have written from remote and isolated areas where there is need but little access to current information concerning LGBT health issues. Drexel has been a premier online university since 1996, when it began offering degrees online as an option for students (see http://www.drexel.com/). As a nationally ranked university with a strong background in technology and research, Drexel Online brings more to learning than other online colleges. Our online college programs are backed with the experience of being a leader in education for more than 115 years. The School of Public Health currently offers the award winning online certificate program, "Epidemiological and Biostatistical Principles and Methods for Public Health in the 21st Century." We in the Drexel Program for LGBT Health have much work to do to put together the highest quality program possible, and we intend to take all the time necessary to get it done right.
