Event Reminder
Share-Net member AIDS Foundation East-West (AFEW) would like to invite you
to the following events next week:
Attention Call for HIV/AIDS in Eastern Europe and Central Asia:
Amsterdam, 27 and 28 January 2009
Debate and Candlelight Vigil
AIDS Foundation East-West (AFEW) is organising a debate on HIV/AIDS in
Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The HIV/AIDS epidemic is threatening that
part of the world and urgent action is called for. The debate will take
place on *27 January 2009 at 20.00 hours in 'De Balie',
Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen 10, in Amsterdam*. National and international
organisations, both governmental and non-governmental, and politicians from
all over the world will participate.
A candlelight vigil will be held the following day, *28 January from 17:00
hours onwards*, in commemoration of all the victims of HIV/AIDS in Eastern
Europe and Central Asia. A thousand candles will be lit on the *Prins
Hendrikkade in Amsterdam*, and passers-by are welcome to light a candle.
AFEW is a Dutch non-governmental humanitarian public health organisation,
working to reduce the impact of HIV and AIDS in Eastern Europe and Central
Asia among vulnerable groups such as injecting drug users, prisoners and sex
workers.

3691700. Should you be interested in lighting a candle or want to see the
event, please feel free to join the vigil on 28 January.
