Sub: Nine days of AIDS Ride 2012, (Boston to NYC to DC) bicycle ride that
kick started from *Barney Frank’s *Newton Office, 13th July – 22nd July
2012- Struggle for Emancipation!!!
The steering committee of the AIDS RIDE 2012 bicycle ride event is happy to
release our press note of *“9* days incredible journey” to express efforts
of "AIDS Ride 2012, Vienna Austria- Washington DC" kicked our ride from
office of *Mr. Barney Frank*! In his absence, his officials witnessed our
efforts in embarking AIDS Ride 2012 on 13th July!
AIDS Ride 2012 is an *affiliated OFFICIAL event of 19th International AIDS
Conference, *Washington DC. *BCARE, *along with its local partners of
Boston, NYC and DC bikers are being involved in this AIDS awareness! The *same
Indian brothers* are bicycling *3**rd** time* in a row, joining hands with
other hardcore cyclers *Shisu Yakuba*, Ghana*, Bryan Mark Urbsaitis*,
Professor at the City University of New York. NYC and *Wallace Corbett*, BBSS
United and Co-Chair, DCCC from Washington DC etc., DC Youth Force*, *who are
will connect the IACs.
*13, July 2012*: Distance covered: 40 miles: Started 5 am from Station
Square, Newton- Congressman Frank’s Office meeting at 11 am, Wellesley,
Natick, Framingham, Ashland, and Hopkinton. Rest at a Gas station 11.30pm!
*14**th** July 2012*: Upton, 4 am started towards Northbridge, Uxbridge,
Douglas, Webster. Currently we are in this city for few hours until 2 pm.
The ride continues…!
*15TH July 2012*: After Webster early morning, we came to Dudley,
Quinebaug, entered Route 12 and came to Putnam, then came to Dayville,
Killingly Center, and then to East Brooklyn and then to Brooklyn. And then
took Route 66, South Chaplin, Windhym, Willimantic, Columbia, Hebron,
Marlborough and then East Hampton and then Middletown and then rested in a
7-11 due to heavy train Surya’s punctured tire. From 7-11 we picked up by a
van to Riverdale Motel.
*16th July 2012: *Fixed our bike. Started from Riverdale, crossed
Middletown and came to Route 17, Durham, and then to North Haven, New Haven
where we connected with Route 1. From there we came to Orange, Stratford,
and Bridgeport. We slept in Fairfield and rested in McDonald’s at 1 a.m.

*17th July 2012*: Started at 5 a.m. in Westport, Norwalk, Darien, Stamford,
Greenwich, and entered New York at New Rochelle, Bronx and then took MTA to
BCARE New York base in Jamaica.

*18th July 2012:* Since BCARE has another base in NYC, we took a day rest
and kick started our bike ride joining Shisu Yakubu. Travelling to Staten
Island and passing through Outer bridging close the Perth Amboy, paying to
a taxi that helped us pass over the bridge. We had hit Ford, Edison through
route 184, 501. 27
*19th July 2012: *19th July 2012, leading to New Brunswick. South
Brunswick, Monmouth Junction, Our request for the escort was denied by the
police officials.
*20th July 2012: *Leaving Lakewood, NJ at 5 a.m. riding through
Philadelphia, PA, on Route 1 on the way to Washington, D.C. for the AIDS
Conference 2012.
*21st July 2012: *Same route 1 heading towards Baltimore we cross Media,
Kennett Sq, Oxford, Raising Sun, Bel Air, Perry Hall. It was almost dawn
when we started from Baltimore. Doing night bike ride is always dangerous
but we are ought to do in order to reach our destination. We came to DC
hitting Laurel and then took Subway to Washington University for our
accommodation.

with 17th International AIDS Conference, Mexico City 2008. It was an
incredible journey of 52 days (including 8 days rest) covered about 4600

*AIDS Ride 2010**:* Mexico City, Mexico – Vienna, Austria, 1st, July 17th July
2010 Affiliated with 18th International AIDS Conference, Vienna, Austria
2010! We connected approx. 79 locations including 49 major cities, reaching
to 10,000 people. The total distance covered was 6,000 miles and we took 23
days to complete the project.

encouraged and motivated to pedal again across the two IACs (International
AIDS Conferences)! Working together, we shall accomplish the global AIDS
