Background:
In the United States thousands of tons of medical supplies are
discarded every day due to overproduction, procedural excess, and
regulatory requirements. These discarded supplies are either sent to
landfills or are incinerated. Thousands of people are dying every day

infrastructure to recycle many of these vital resources and ship them
to hospitals, medical clinics and medical missions in developing
countries.
Doc to Dock is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization in Park Slope,
Brooklyn with a mission to collect and ship medical supplies from the
American medical community to our counterparts in developing
countries, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. Incorporated in 2006, we
are a small organization in the early stages of development. We are
looking for an individual who is team-oriented and committed to
assisting in the various aspects of developing a start-up
organization.
Responsibilities:

Oversee volunteer training and modify as appropriate to improve effectiveness
Supervise volunteer activities and group sorting sessions of medical supplies

special events
Handle outreach and acquisition of donated equipment
Prepare periodic reports for senior management and the Board
Other responsibilities and opportunities as assigned
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university
Five years of experience with a non-profit organization, preferably
in the area of volunteer or project coordination
Highly organized, dedicated, responsible, team-oriented, and flexible
Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to self-structure and connect tasks to broader program goals
Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access or equivalent software
Interest in international development
Salary range: $35,000 - $40,000
