Hi GYCA,
I am happy with the progress made in Bali but I am still not satisfied with
GYCA's role specially in the Pacific and my country, I was notified to be
one of the country focal points, I am still waiting for GYCA to confirm and
communicate with me about what I have submitted. I have sent Toma emails and
followed up and nothing happened until now you guys are meeting in Bali.
during the last summit in Colombo I was there and we have done a lot but
again our regional leadership are not really helping us the national focal
points.
my point is people are dying and we need to seriously take this into account
and take steps to help not help ourselves by attending international
gatherings. I have decided not to attend Bali because I don't see the point.
we actually are setting up a Youth National Alliance on HIV-AIDS and we just
finished our Constitution and we are now finalising and will be in full
operation before world AIDS day in December. so I won't endorse such
commitments made in Bali under GYCA's leadership.
it's not fair for GYCA to preach about Youth leadership yet very limited
support in terms of technical and other support to help Asia Pacific states.
Don't fool yourselves around by attending workshops and conference around
the world making commitments using the region yet you cant deliver your own
commitments.
