CLIMATE TECH and CARBON MARKET WORKSHOP in BOTSWANA
Botswana Innovation Hub and Lund University with assistance from SIDA
(Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) are organising a
workshop in Botswana to promote research-, public- and business development
partnerships in the field of climate technologies and the carbon markets.
The workshop will include speakers such as Karan Capoor (World Bank), Prof
Lars J Nilsson (Lund University/IPCC advisor), Dr Heleen de Coninck (ECN),
Dr Johannes Stripple (Lund University), Harro van Asselt (Free University
Amsterdam), Glenn Hodes (UNEP Risoe) and a range of speaches by local
Government officials, resarchers and entrepreneurs.
For Botswana and southern africa, the workshop will discuss and facilitate
opportunities for business development and foreign direct investments in
line with sustainable development and climate change mitigation. Botswana,
and in particular the Botswana Innovation Hub, offers excellent
opportunities for businesses to operate safely and successfully in the
Southern African region.
This workshop is a step towards highlighting the international interest of
finding climate change projects from business driven investors, public
actors and researchers, which can be done in partnerships with
entrepreneurs, project proponents and other partners in Botswana.
