Forum. The t-shirts will all be in orange.
YOU NEED TO FILL OUT THE ATTACHED FORM AND SEND IT IMMEDIATELY TO
JessConn-Potegal at jesstep (at) gmail.com. It is possible that we may have
already missed the deadline.
The t-shirts are sponsored by www.mondonation.com.
*** A NOTE ABOUT TRANSLATION (at) GUiC+10
We will NOT have translation available at GUiC+10 (wish we could, but funds
are tight). However, we will have many bi- and multi-lingual participants.
We will need to ask everyone to make a special effort to support
participants in need of full or partial translation support. This may mean
forming pairs that will stick together during the sessions to informally
translate for those who need it. It also means everyone needs to be aware
of communication needs, speaking clearly and comprehensibly. Patience and
good humor will be the order of the day.
*** A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE OF GUiC+10...
Just a note in response to some questions that have been posed...
>GUiC+10 is being structured as a workshop, instead of a traditional
>conference. The workshop will be a working session that draws on our
>collective experience and expertise to articulate what we know about what
>works, and what doesn't work, in relation to children, youth and
>development; and to identify ways which we can work together more
>effectively to grow the GUiC network and promote better practice both in
>terms of research and action.
>We are carving out time in the agenda on Wed and Thurs to hear from some
>of the GUiC projects that have been active in recent years, providing
>examples of how the project has worked in different places. Also, on
>Wednesday afternoon we will spend time in sma ll groups to give everyone
>an opportunity to share their projects and experiences. We want to
>recognize and draw upon the expertise in the room - and all of you are experts.
>Please DO come prepared to share your project experience, but understand
>that the sharing will happen in small groups. We WILL try to mix up the
>groups so that people from the same city team are interacting with as many
>other teams as possible.
>Things to bring can include samples of work, photographs, or any other
>materials that can be (a) shared in the small groups on Wednesday, and/or
>(b) put up on the wall as a display. We will also have a screen and
>projector where we can show videos during lunch breaks as well as
>before/after each day of activities. Also, if you are staying through the
>following week at WUF, there may be possibilities for sharing your work at
>the World Urban Cafe space in the WUF exhibition hall!
