	Hello Franciscan Youth International! For those of you in the northern hemisphere with me, welcome back from summer! We’re going to hit the ground running! Spread the word! Who was Francis? How does Franciscans International relate to the United Nations? What is the United Nations? How can you be involved? All of those answers can be found in this toolkit! The website will be going through some changes soon; we will keep you posted! Keep checking it out to see for yourself! *************** Important Dates in October to Remember Look for the upcoming toolkit on “Religious Freedom and Solidarity” in prepartation for these holy holidays. October 4th – The beginning of Ramadan (a sacred month for Islam) October 4th – Feast of St. Francis October 5th – The beginning of the month of Tishrei (a sacred month for Judaism) October 17th – International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (see the webpage for how to be involved!) October 24th- United Nations Day October 24-30 – International Disarmament Week *************** Here’s a quick update on what else has been happening! In August, FYI had the most marvellous opportunity to attend World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany. World Youth Day Tales Regaled FYI hosts a space for young people to share and reflect on their experiences at World Youth Day 2005.
