We’ve been involved in lobbying for America’s wilderness and wildlife and an expertise, analysis and hard-line advocacy of animal rights since 1996 through a combination of science and education.

Ethical Treatment of Animals and Environment Protection’s (ETAEP) mission covers a broad range of concerns with five departments: Animal Rescue works with pet owners, the animal-care and control community, and legislators. Our Wildlife and Habitat Services strives to protect wildlife in their natural habitats as well as in captivity. Likewise, our Marine Mammals staff fights for better conditions, both in the wild and in captivity, for whales, manatees and other at-risk marine mammals. Government Affairs lobbies on behalf of animals at the federal, state, and local levels, while Farm Animal Welfare works for the more humane treatment of animals raised and killed for meat, eggs, and milk, and combats the spread of factory farming.

Some 85% of the funds we receive are used directly for the prevention of cruelty to animals and environmental protection and conservation.

We devote our expertise and leadership to coalition efforts, creating a broad base of support for animal rights and environmental campaigns and reaching out to diverse communities globally.
