Survey - your input is important - GENTLE REMINDER

Apologies for any cross posting - Please distribute widely

Dear colleague,

You are being invited to participate in an important online survey of
civil society organizations conducted by the United Nations
Non-Governmental Liaison Service and the aids2031 Leadership Working
Group. It seeks your input on the priorities for the future AIDS
response, in particular as it relates to the question of leadership. It
is aimed at civil society organizations across the world that work in
the field of HIV/AIDS.

aids2031 is a "think tank" project initiated by Peter Piot while
Executive Director of UNAIDS, and is aimed at formulating a long-term
strategic AIDS response, as opposed to continued crisis management. (See
the attached letter from Prof. Piot, which explains the background to
the initiative and this survey.)

If you choose to participate, your answers will help the aids2031
Leadership Working Group formulate recommendations that will form part
of the aids2031 final report, "An Agenda for the Future" and the results
will also be published as a free-standing report.

You can reach the survey using this link:
http://www.un-ngls.org/aids2031. It should take you about one hour to
complete. You will find all the information you need to do so at this
link. Please note, it is not necessary to complete the entire
questionnaire in one session -- once you have submitted your personal
details the system will email you a link that allows you to interrupt
your session at any time and return to complete it later. The deadline
for the completion of the survey is Wednesday 30th September, 2009.

Please try to ensure that at least one senior leader or staff member in
your organization participates in the survey, since it will feed
directly into a prominent set of recommendations that we hope will have
a substantial impact on the future direction of the long-term global
AIDS response. We thank you in advance for taking the time to provide us
with your valuable insights.

Kind regards

on behalf of Peter Piot and the aids2031 Leadership Working Group
