SAfAIDS - Call for Partners to implement advocacy activities for the achievement of universal access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health as outlined in the Maputo Plan of Action (MPoA) in Malawi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe
SAfAIDS is a regional non-profit organisation established in 1994. Its regional office is in Pretoria, South Africa. SAfAIDS promotes ethical and effective development responses to the epidemic and its impact through HIV and AIDS knowledge management, capacity development, advocacy, policy analysis and research with special regard to gender, human rights, culture and other development concerns. Under it Regional Policy Desk, SAfAIDS builds partnerships and leadership in promoting policy related dialogue on cutting- edge issues related to HIV and AIDS throughout the Southern Africa region.
SAfAIDS is working with partners and governments to implement a program that seeks to provide support to countries to identify bottlenecks, share lessons and define actions for accelerating and monitoring progress towards the achievement of universal access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health as outlined in the Maputo Plan of Action. This is to complement existing efforts made by countries to date
With this background, SAfAIDS is inviting organisations working from Malawi, Zimbabwe and Tanzania on sexual and reproductive health and rights either in the public, civic or private sector to complete the attached Partner Selection Form and submit it to SAfAIDS by the 30th of June 2009. Selected partners will develop work plans to guide implementation of advocacy related activities towards the achievement of universal access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health as outlined in the Maputo Plan of Action.
A partner selection committee will be established in each country to evaluate the completed Partnership forms. Selected partners will implement sexual and reproductive health and rights advocacy activities in each of the three countries and participate in regional experience sharing meetings
Kindly submit your partnership forms to: dominica (at) safaids.net by the Monday the 30th of June 2009 for consideration by SAfAIDS.
Alternatively, hard copies can be submitted via fax on +27-12-361-0899 or in hard copy to: The Executive Director, 479 Sappers Contour, Lynnwood, Pretoria 0081, and South Africa. Should you choose to submit hard copies, please ensure adequate time for documents to reach SAfAIDS by the 30th of June 2009.
