Hi Fellow Comrades!
Gbenga and Sarah tanxs for your response. Since all of us share the view of coming together to chart a common front then we must come together bcos time is of essence.
should we take Gbenga suggestion and start from somewhere and later choose another suitable days of meeting,
I want someone to volunteer a very accessible venue for the meeting and every one will contribute a token for refreshment on arrival on the meeting date.
Lets just start from somewhere

Hi Mr George,
I think your suggestion on choosing a date of meeting is very good. It is quite unfortunayte that the BC left us in the cold after the training. But I think by meeting, we can iron out a lot of issues like how our organizations are faring in relation to the MDGs, what we are doing, the certificate issue and other stuffs lie that.
To me, I think the third Saturday of every month would be okay. I would have suggested the last Saturday, but the WAPI meet on this day.
So, if there is any comment on this, pls let us say it.
Thanks
Gbenga

Hi fellow Collegues!
I am so happy to see us interacting again after a long time.
I know alot of good things have happened to each and every one of us individually and Organisation wise and i believe we should share with one another success stories and be part of it.
To keep this social network alive, let us adopt the following:
1. Choose a day we can come together to interract&refresh ourselves and appoint a Protem Governor and Secretary for our group who shall be co-ordinating our meetings and programs.
2. To at least meet once a month on rotational basis among member organisations that has facilities to host meetings.
3. Pay Courtesy visit to the new British Council Director to register our interest in Partnering with his Council on different programs as Special Interest Group to British Council.
4. See a way of requesting for Issuance of our Certificate of participation on DTA program and also request for grants and material supports for our Organisations.
As for my activities so far, I did a step down for Lagos State Youth Council and its affiliate Member organisations in 2006
I was nominated by American Government in Nigeria through the Public Affairs Section of the US consulate to attend International Visitor Leadership Program in 7 American States, where i was opportuned to Witness the Presidential Election primaries and General Election of Barack Obama in 2008.
Same 2008 I was elected to be the Number 2 Youth in Nigeria (Deputy National President of National Youth Council of Nigeria) and recently the National President was appointed as Honorable Commisioner of Information and Communication in Kwara State by Gov. Bukola Saraki, which made him to resign and now making me to assume the post of Number 1 Youth in Nigeria as the Ag. National President.
Still recently i was appointed by Mr President Alhaji Shehu Musa Yar'Adua to serve in the Special Interest Group on Youth in Vision 20:2020 Committee and in that group I was made the Chairman of the group of which we have packaged series of positions on Youth perspective in the document of which come 24th of September I have been Invited to the Villa for the revalidation of Vision 20:2020 Document.
Presently the National Youth Council of Nigeria is partnering with INEC and Federal Ministry of Youth Development on YOUTH: CAMPAIGN AGAINST THUGGRY AND ELECTORAL MALPRACTICES (Y-CATEM) the flag off will take place in Abuja between 28&29 September,2009.
While hoping to share more with you soonest, lets keep this network alive!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Colleagues,
I couldnt believe the 2006/2007 DTA team is still alive but thanks to this refreshing mail to reignite the fire. I must say that we all have failed in not keep up the flame including me, even Dennis our faciltator and Kelechi, i wonder if the effeort was a waste, no cohesion among folks. i wonder why we came together in the first place. However if we have woken up ther is a lot we can do. Now to the question- No mean organization will hear about DTA and not leap for the opportunity to be part of it, for African Children Renaissance Project (Now African Children Renaissance Initiative (ACRI) it was a very welcomed development to step down learning and share experiences with all members including volunteers, some of them are still asking when similar opportunity will come so they can participate, even other programmes we have done subsequently are all centred on MDGs, NEEDS, PRS
Also Udy was right in his analysis of the economic situation but beyond that is the issue of coordination, our facilitators must provide the necessary leadership to ensure the community is intact. we must act as a community if we must deliver 'called' services, we must start to be passionate in knowing what we all are doing even in our individual organizations, e.g since the begining of this year ACRI has been involved in water sector reform project with the Abia State Water Board. i will soon send our online invitation to you all for our Water Sector Reform Stakeholders Summit coming up early November 2009 and please whoever that is interested should contact me immediately to see how we can draw our synergies together, i am still consulting with some facilitators, so it is an opportunity. Again i am glad folks are already re-echoing the certificate issue, i thaught initially i am only the one feeling cheated, this should also be looked into
wish you all a happy weekend

Bethlehem Foundation memebers were very receptive of the step-down training, as soon as we the DTA trainee proposed the date, everyone agreed to it,that was what made it possible to hold it immediately after the training,(on a lighter note) some of us BF are using some DTA terms and quotes.
To those that havent responded, i suggest the Facilitation team get in touch, maybe physically with them. One problem i can ready point out may be the cost of being online,we dicovered that all cyber cafes have stepped up their prices, this may be a constrain to some

Greetings from the Facilitation Team,
How did your organization respond when you brief them about DTA training and your proposed step down?
How do we resolve the problem of some organization not contributing to the discussion on the list serve?
Counting on your response on these two questions before midnight Saturday, so that we can push on to meet deadline on other issues
