Hello Everyone!

Thank you for visiting the TakingITGlobal home of CHEER Canada, Caring Humans Encouraging Environmental Revolution.

This organization was started by two graduate students of the University of Waterloo studying sustainability. We encourage any interested individuals or groups to join CHEER and help us achieve our goal of encouraging Environmental Revolution.

Fundamental changes are required in the way humans function on the planet; both in the way we treat the natural environment and the way we treat each other. Human civilizations malevolent ways have gone on for too long and we must act now to begin to move towards a more sustainable version of civilization. We must re-examine the way we are living on the planet to decide how to adapt to the complex, rapidly changing nature of the 21st century. We must find a way to live and interact that will be sustainable and equitable for all humans, animals and the ecosystems which we reside in and rely upon for survival.

CHEER Canada's primary objective is thus to educate people about the realities of the world, especially those realities veiled in corporate or government secrecy, that have been and continue to lead us towards increased environmental degradation, poverty and inequality. We then must begin a dialogue designed to illuminate the possibilities for positive change and encourage what is ultimately needed: (non-violent, non-passive) Environmental Revolution.

We feel that a great deal of change is needed to begin to create a more sustainable and equitable global community.

This change will not occur without the active encouragement from members of this community and we are therefore calling for members to take part in our action campaign to encourage what we believe is needed: Environmental Revolution!
