Hi everyone!
Just a reminder - The next Youth Network conference call will be this
Sunday, November 8th. Instructions to join the call and a possible
agenda are below. Please bring your own ideas as well!
This call will be especially important in planning youth activities for
the CCR Fall Consultation in Windsor from 3-5 December 2009.

- *Workshop*: newcomer youth and access to post-secondary education
(Thursday, December 3rd, 4 - 5:30 pm)

Will you be at the Consultation? ***Plan to arrive in Windsor on
Wednesday night in time to attend the Wednesday night orientation session***

4) Actions and Issues
a) Issues and actions that the Youth Network has been working on:
- Access to post-secondary education for youth (overcoming barriers to
completing secondary school or financial barriers to attending college,
university and other professional programs)
: need a planning team for this workshop (will take place on Thursday,
December 3rd, 4-5:30 pm in Windsor)
- Youth Orientation Guide report on progress
- Survey on newcomer youth and priorities see:

b) Issue areas for discussion
- Comments from the government/Minister of Citizenship and Immigration on
changes to the refugee system in Canada how can/should we respond?
5) Representatives from the Youth Network on Working Group Steering
Committee(s)
No reply yet from the Youth Network selection committee about this. Note:
Two of the three CCR Working Groups (Immigration and Settlement and
Overseas Protection and Sponsorship are requesting a youth representative
on their steering planning committees). Please let Colleen know if
