Some goals:

*3) Updates following the CCR Consultation in Quebec City, 28-30 May 2009*
a) Response from the CCR Executive (see notes from Oana Grigorescu)
- Oana is leading a group that is creating a youth orientation guide to
CCR Consultations and getting involved in the CCR. Suggestion: one page
should be on the process of submitting and selecting Consultation
workshop topics. Let Oana know your suggestions for what should be in
the guide (oanabella (at) gmail.com)
- there will be a one-day meeting for youth the day before the start of
the CCR Consultation. We will need people to get involved and help to
organize it.
- there is some funding to bring youth the CCR Consultation in
November. If you have ideas of other funding sources, please let us know.
- youth will be recognized for involvement at CCR Consultations ad in
helping to organize (certificates)
- need to work on building funding for youth efforts that do not depend
on government funding

Committee(s)
- See notes from the Immigration and Settlement Working Group
- Selecting a Youth Network representative

online survey to Colleen -- see: http://ccrweb.ca/en/survey

support the campaign in your own community.
b) Problems that the Youth Network should address / Issues raised

Suggestions:
- Humanitarian & Compassionate Applications
- Youth in limbo (undocumented youth)
: we need to get more youth involved in CCR campaigns that
touch on these issues (need more input on this)
- Indigenous issues -- how to bring this on the CCR agenda?
o Some possibilities: Consultation workshop; invite indigenous groups
to CCR Consultations
- Support for Tamil community
o Raise public awareness
o Need to keep youth informed
o Need hands-on support -- within the Tamil community; build a broader
solidarity campaign (note: use CCRTOR -- CCR Toronto listserve -- see
Colleen's email)
- Overseas refugee issues and Canadian youth -- look at
suggestions following May 2009 workshop (Hannah will send these to
everyone by email)
*5) Other business*
- Accessibility: how can youth get more involved in the CCR;
creation of youth space
